What is the Schedule?
Registration is Wednesday from 11:30-1:30 pm CENTRAL time. We will finish by 11:30 on Friday. Our time will be a mixture of teaching, prayer, and individual time for you to hear from your Father.
When should I arrive?
Registration is from 11:30-1:30 pm CENTRAL time. Lunch will not be available at the conference center on the first day. We will have a variety of snacks and drinks available in the dining hall. We recommend arriving at the beginning of registration to give yourself time to settle in and unwind before the first session begins.
When does the conference end?
The conference will ends at approximately 11:30 AM on Friday.
Where is it?
Ruach Journeys are held at Springville Camp and Conference Center, 3886 Mountain View Road, Springville, AL 35120. You can see more about Springville Camp and Conference Center at www.springvillecamp.com. Ruach Journey attendees will be staying in the Conference Lodges. Each room has two Queen size beds and a private bathroom. Some rooms also have a twin included to accommodate 3 people.
Do I need to do anything in advance?
- Pray for God to prepare your heart and spirit for what He wants to say and write down anything you hear Him say to you.
- We will also send you a small packet of material with a CD to listen to so that you are fully prepared for the conference.
What airport do I need to fly into? Is there transportation to and from the airport?
Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport airport code BHM is the closest airport. The conference center is located 30-45 minutes away from the airport. We will be coordinating a shuttle service for the retreat. On tWednesday, a shuttle will pick you up based on arrival time. When booking your reservation, please try to arrive in Birmingham by noon. On theFriday, everyone will leave on a shuttle for the airport at the same time. When booking your airline ticket, please do not plan to depart until 1:00 pm or after to allow yourself enough time to get to the airport and get through security in time to catch your flight. The price of the shuttle is $25 one way or $50 round trip from the airport to the Springville Conference Center. This price includes a tip for the driver.
If you are flying internationally or from the West Coast
Attendees traveling from the West Coast or Internationally will need to fly in on Tuesday in order to be rested and ready to go for Wednesday. Early in our conference a few attendees attempted to fly all night and arrive in Birmingham by noon on Wednesday and all said it was a mistake. They were not able to receive all that they could have because of losing a night of sleep. Please read below for information about which hotel to stay in on Tuesday night.
Can I come in a day early or stay a day later at the conference center?
Due to travel time and flight schedules, some of you may need to arrive early or stay later. Unfortunately Springville Conference Center cannot accommodate us except for the days of the retreat. Please do not book a hotel next to the airport. It is not a safe part of town. If you need to arrive early or stay late please stay at The Hampton Inn at 1940 Edwards Lake Road, Trussville, Alabama, 35235, 1-205-655-9777. It is the closest hotel to the conference center. They provide a complementary airport shuttle Monday-Friday 7am-9pm only; reservation required. You must call them in advance to arrange. Otherwise you can take a taxi to the hotel which will cost about $25.00. On the day Ruach begins, we will provide you free shuttle service from this hotel to the conference center. What does the cost of the conference include?
Th conference fee includes 2 nights lodging at the Springville Conference Center, meals starting with dinner on the first night through breakfast on the last day, and a conference notebook.
What should I bring?
You and your beautiful heart, a Bible, and comfortable clothes. There is a lot of beautiful land. There will be times when we will send you out to be alone with your Beloved, so you may want to wear comfortable walking shoes so that you can find your own spot on the property. We will give you a notebook of notes and resources.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
A non-refundable $150 fee will be charged for all cancellations. If cancellations are made less that 3 weeks prior to the event there will be no refunds available. Conference fees are for the original registrant only and are non-transferable to any other person or event.
Is smoking allowed at the conference?
No. The conference center does not allow smoking in the rooms or on the grounds of the conference center.
What if I have special dietary needs?
After you register for Ruach you will be sent a short survey to fill out where you can inform us of food allergies or other needs. The conference center cannot make special meals, but they keep food allergies/intolerance in mind when making the menu for the group. For all lunches and dinners there is a full salad bar offered along with the meal. The center also provides a few small refrigerators and a microwave in the dining hall for attendees who need to bring a few items with them to supplement their meals.
Can my spouse come with me to Ruach even if he doesn’t attend the conference?
No. Space is limited at the conference center and all spaces are needed for participants. There are no hotels near the conference center and it is best for all participants to stay at the conference center because we begin first thing in the morning and continue until late in the evening.
